not getting fuel

Default not getting fuel

Having trouble with 2001 mustang. No fuel pressure,fuel shut-off not tripped. can't hear fuel pump working, anyone have any ideas ?

Hi, welcome.Try bang on the tank with a rubber mallet. If the car start it the fuel pump. Also post your question in the tech section. You will get more /better response.

Verify relays in the fuse block are good and no fuses blown. if all good, then faulty fuel pump.

If you have no fuel pressure that it has to be something with the pump. Have you removed the pump from the tank and tried to bench test it with a 12 volt car battery? It could be something as simple as a bad ground connection to a completely faulty pump.

No, that is not accurate. No fuel pressure could also be a crimped fuel line, bad fuel pressure regulator, blown fuse, bad fuel pump relay, or a broken/damaged/corroded wire/connector in the fuel pump circuit. Don't jump to condemning the most expensive part (fuel pump) without checking the cheap stuff first. Just sayin'...

Thanks for all responses. Turned out to a fuse.was'nt bad.just pulled it and put it back in and pump started working.

Keep some spare fuses and a mallet. Pump may be on its way out
