Default fuel psi.

i have an 89 gt ho convertable. when i turn the key on and check the fuel pressure, its like 5 psi, the book says it should be 35 or so, and when i put power directly to the fuel pump, it does put out about that, and the relay and inertia switch is good. what else could it be? not fuel filter or regulator....

properly fuel pump sock on pump stopped up.my freind hade that same problem on his 90GT but thats not to say its the sameproblem youare having just a idea. but we replaced the whole fuel pump when the had the tank down just for safe measerses.it had over 170,000 miles on it and was kind of loud hoe this hepls a little. p/s could have bad regulator do you have a freind to try? would be easyer and cheaper to try . good luck lret me know your finds , is your fuel pump loud?</P>
