Default Fuel Pump Relay

This is my first post here . I have been given a 1989 Mustang Conv. . And right off the start I have a problem.
When I turn off the ignition key and remove it, the fuel pump still runs . I think it is the fuel pump relay, can anyone tell me where the relay is located ?? It does'nt say in my Haynes repair manual.
Thanks ,Art

it's in the trunk...left side under the carpet stuff(the hard molded stuff by the wheelwell)

it should be just behind the wheelwell, but could be next to the left taillight.

there will be a hole cut in the carpet where you can see a reset switch.

look for "inertia switch" in the haynes manual if you cant find it..but it should be there where i said

The only relay I found in the trunk was for the convertible top . I didn't find any relay on the harness all the way to the dash. And I found two relays under the dash one was for the amp meter and the tach .And the other had a different plug than my new relay . I need to find this relay .
Thanks Art

Go to your local Library's reference section. They should have manuals there. Mine does.

trust me ...it HAS to be in the trunk.....

it is there so if you get rearended..it cuts offf the fuel.

on the left side of the car, under the plastic stuff..left rearwell(drivers side) or right by the left taillight

and it has a reset switch on top of it.

about 2inch by 2 inch box..maybe 3 x 3

your going too deep in the trunk.....just inside, in the back

Fig. 4: The inertia switch is reset by pushing the buttom mounted on top. The switch is located behind the rear panel in the truck where the lights are.

Straight from the manual for 1989-1993 Mustang LX coupe and convertable.
