i'm pretty new to the mustang world, and i would like some suggestions on what kind of exhaust i should get for my 2002 3.8l v6 manual mustang. im looking for a loud enough sound that doesnt over do it.

 

Go to the V6 forum. There are LOADS of threads there about exhaust. Try this. It's my exhaust accelerating from 50 to about 75. Had to back off. Didn't want a ticket.

no mid pipe H or X
just straight back from the cats to the flomaster mufflers

sounds sweet too.

its a GT takeoff system modded of course

 

GT takeoff with a fabricated midpipe is the least expensive option.

 

BBK Full length headers down to high flow cats (Simmit makes a cheap $90 dollar universal) Make sure to have the shop make test tubes for you too so that you can remove your cats and put the tubes in their place, get an X-Pipe (Really just to change the sound) Your V6 engine is an even firing engine and wont gain power from an X-Pipe, it will just change the sound some. From there Series 40 dual chambers sound good and then a GT takeoff with whatever size tip you want, A 3" sounds good but looks kinda big unless its 3" OD rolled then it looks sweet. But there are really so many different ways you can build your exhaust to sound good, thats just one that I have heard that sounds really good.
