Default 2012 Ford Mustang Premium USB Problem/Question

I recently purchased my first Mustang, it was a used 2012 Ford Mustang Premium, I love the car 100% and is amazing but I encountered a problem I would love some guidance, assistance & information about because I really can't find an answer just asking questions into Google.

I plugged my I-pod touch into the USB port to play my music, sync my ipod and the sync will work, but when I'm playing my music, the music will do these little glitches during the song, kinda like clicking or making weird noises every like 15 seconds or so, but the weird part is I'll switch the AM/FM radio and everything will play very smooth and great. Sometimes when I'm playing my music through the USB it is 100% like nothing is wrong, does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

If you need any more information please post, I'll get back to you ASAP!!
Thank you.

Just using some basic troubleshooting steps here. The song is playing, so we know that it's the right file type (MP3, MP4)

1)Does the problem occur only when a device is plugged into the USB port?
2)Does the problem only occur when only playing music?
3)Does the problem occur when the device is plugged in via USB to a different device (PC, etc)?
4)Does the music play without issue when plugged into a different device?

5)Is it a certain song or songs that produce the problem?
6)Are you plugging a USB 3.0 device into a USB 2.0 port?

Q#6 is the toughy...i don't have the owners manual in front of me to see what version it is. It possible it may be causing a compatibility issue.

If Q#5 is YES, then it's likely a corrupted file

if Q# 1&2 are YES, Q#3 is NO and Q#4 is YES, then it is most likely the port in the car.

Use the questions to help guide you...chances are it's one of 4 things. The port in the car, the port on the device, the cable between the 2 ports or the file itself

To all of your troubleshooting steps, they all check out aside from #6. I'm very good with computers and electronics so the file types, the USB ports etc all work on all different devices. Just that USB in that car playing songs has an issue.
As for the 2.0 to 3.0 I'll have to get back on.
