Default KEYFOB HELP! I am about to give up.

So, starting from the beginning. My key fob just randomly stopped working. So I got a new one and a new battery from Autozone. We did the key fob test thingy and my old one would not respond at all. Well my new one will NOT program.I tried to do what the manual and others have said, turning it on and off 8 times to turn on programming mode. I get the to the point where locks cycle, but it nothing happens when i press the buttons on the fob. I have done everything from unplugging the battery, unplugging (From what i thought) the transmitter, i have unplugged the alternator (shouldn't matter anyways i know). I have tried everything. Any suggestions? I have a 2004

IF your car is going into programming and not responding to the key fob , I would say its the wrong key fob.

I once tried to program a fob from a 94 mustang to my 05 Lincoln using the same technique, fobs look identical, but the frequencies were not correct . I was just doing it for s&gs to see if it would work , because they do look the same .

I don't want to put down auto zone but are you sure they sold you the correct one?

Yes. I compared the part number to the old one that worked. It is the right one lol.

do they have the same FCC # on the back? i've bought many of them off of ebay..the that FCC # is not a match then it wont work. also when you get the locks to cycle are you keeping the key in the ON position? ive done it a few times where i cycle to fast and it cycles the locks but ive already done 1 more cycle..so it cancels it.

Like just said above, you have to obey the instructions to a fault, time limits and cycles and stop positions all ..... and do all key fobs together.

Yes the numbers matched. I matched them. Everything is the same.

And, yes i have followed the instructions. Like i said before I programed the last one. I am familiar with the process lol. This is why I'm at a loss of words. I get to the point where they cycle (in the on position), and i hit the button on the key fob, but nothing happens.

Also just for the record, the key fob is functional, it just isn't programming for some reason.
