Default Rev Limit

I recently just retuned my 05 GT. I turned the rev limitter off and was wondering what you guys think is occasionally ok to go to. Redline from the factory is set at 6k rpms and fuel cut off is 6250. I've had it up to 6400 once and 6250 another time. This isn't something I'm going to do all the time obviously, but just wondering.

Thanks

you may never hit the rev limited to whatever you set it at depending on what you have because at 6200 I think you would loose power instead of something lower.
my chip set mine to 6500.

what mods do you have?

why did you turn it off if you don't want to go that high in the rpm rang?

i smack my revlimiter all the time i don't think it hurts the car that bad to go up around 6k.

yeah i know it is a little hard on the motor to accualy hit the revlimiter but its there to keep you form killing the car.

I don't recall having the option to set the rev limiter to something. It did give me the option to turn it off, which I did. I have no issue with going that high in the RPM band, just not sure if the 4.6L 3V has issues with 6500 rpms on occasion. I probably should dyno it and see how much power I'm loosing by running it out that much.

My mods are C&L intake and 93 Octane tune. I just have to be careful, can't run it to 9200rpms like my S2000 did.

Might as well throw some big *** cams in there now and spin that bitch to 7200! At least with different cams, you'll be making power all the way up there.

You should have the option on the flash tuner. It's on my DiabloSport...
