Default Front end shakes

2000 mustang GT Conv. Front end and steering wheel shake when braking hard at about 60 mph and above. You can't feel it in the brake pedal. Front rotors pads and calipers have been changed. Also new tires and struts. Tried different front tires and wheels with the same result. Any ideas?

SWEET car. Does the Air-Raid CAI make a difference in acceleration do you think? Thinking about getting one.

Car tracks perfect and doesn't drift. There's no play or roughness in the wheel bearings. I've checked all the obvious. I was hoping someone had the same problem and found a solution.

Thanks. It makes a difference throughout the whole RPM range. Really changed the sound as well. Worth every penny.

As for the OP, It could be a number of problems. My guess would be the rotors but since you've replaced them, not sure how it can be an issue. Take it in and have someone diagnosis it. Could be as simple as an alignment.

I also think it's time to bite the bullet and take it to a trusted mechanic. Throw it on a rack look for worn bushings, ball joints, etc.

It'll be money well spent in the end.

I had a wicked shimmy in mine, ended up needing grease in the bushings on the sway bar (aftermarket sway for me)... still has a little shimmy but I also know I'm out of balance, one of the weights fell off yesterday... but greasing the bushings solved ALOT of the shimmy...

Good Luck
