I recently acquired a 2000 v6 mustang and want to swap it to a v8. Don't know much about this generation but it is my favorite body. Just looking for information about part swaps and tuning tips. For instance, I don't know if the 5 speed that the car has in it now is a t5 ot something else completely.

 

Your car has a T5 , same as the 94-95 GTs. To do a V8 swap, it would be easier for you and cheaper to go with an older 5.0l pushrod engine from one of the 94-95 cars. If you want a 4.6l modular you will need a t45 transmission and a Kmember from a 99-04 GT. The v6 kmember will work though for a 5.0 with different mounts, plus you would need a bell housing for a 5.0l.
