Default What is this?

Just recently bought a 99 Mustang v6 that has been neglected. in the process of tracking down electrical wire issues i stumbled across this. not sure what it is or does. it was tucked away underneath the shifter.

Any one able to help?

Best bet would be to trace the wires and see where they go. It's not factory so it should be easy to follow. Good luck

Whatever it is, you can tell that by the use of non-soldered butt connectors and wirenutz that it was a professional installation.

That oughta be fun.

Took out the center console, that piece is connected to what appears to be the factory wiring that runs thru it, looks like it ran to that big connector located just to the left of the shifter.

Also there were 2 pigtails clipped on the underside that went to no where, i assume it was for a certain option on the vehicle.

Also as far as the "professional installation" goes, here is my MAF pigtail, TPS pigtail, and radio wiring harness.

Oh my.

I believe that I would seriously consider scavenging a good harness from a boneyard rather than try to unscrew that unholy mess.

Do your fog lights come on automatically? Whats the other side of that board look like, Im wondering if that's some ones half blasted attempt to wire in a day time running light module.

I'm thinking it's a power relay board for modern day flux capacitor.

No fog lights on vehicle, I will get a pic of the back side when I get home.

There is a single green light that turns on when I turn on the headlights.

While digging around i also found this nice hack job, 3 connectors behind the driver side kick panel, the connector closest to the firewall is the one that is jacked up, any idea as to what all is ran thru it?
