close second, wiha micro finish screwdrivers, I had no idea what I was missing till I used great screwdrivers...worth every penny...

Ratcheting wrenches! (Especially with flex-heads) I don't know how I managed so long without them...

1) Ergonomic combination wrenches where the box end is turned 90 degrees to the open end so you have extra surface to push on more comfortably.

Kobalt makes a set of non-ratcheting ones. Way easier to bust things loose when you can't get an impact gun or breaker bar in.

2) Go-through ratchet set, way easier than trying to get a deep socket into a shallow socket space and can also easy to use for when you need to keep the shaft secured while turning the nut (like struts or shocks)

The Craftsman tools I inherited from my father when he passed. They are all stamped with a 'J' and whenever I see one of those 'J's it makes me smile because I know that for a moment in time, that tool was important enough to my father for him to take time to mark it.

I also have a 1/2" SnapOn combination wrench that I bought from a pawn shop back in the days of my misspent youth and every time I use it I start running down the list of cars it has worked on.

I don't choose one of my children to love more than another, and the same for my tools . . .

but then, the half-dozen or so that belonged to my grandfather have special meaning . . . (especially the couple he recovered from my father an then gave to me )
