Default Still Running Hot

Hi Gentlemen,
Performed tests using block tester over weekend and all proved negative. I ran three separate tests over three days and the blue liquid in the tester remained a blue color. Checked distributor placement and it is in proper position although I cannot figure why timing gun utilizes the timing marks on opposite side of damper. That is my next approach. Thank you all for your help.

I'm happy for you that it's not a head gasket issue. And troubled for you that the saga continues.

edgraz1941, if your timing mark is 180 out, that usually indicates your timing light is not connected to the number 1 cylinder. Make sure you are using the right firing order for this engine.

edgraz, do a old man a favor and connect your timing light, on each cylinder, starting with the number one cylinder working to the number 8 cylinder. See if any of the cylinders put your balancer timing marks in the ballpark. I'm grabbing for straws here, so have patience with me. I have seen that sometimes things are not as they seem. Let me know how it turned out.

edgraz1941, my crew chief brought up a interesting point. Also check to see if your harmonic balancer has two keyways cut into it at 180 degrees apart. If so, you know what to do. Hang in there, I got your back.

Buck Sargeant,
Thank you for your input troop!!! I checked each and every cylinder with two timing lights and results are the same. Confusing to say the least!!!! Also, if I removed the Harmonic balancer and rotated it 180 degrees wouldn't I have the same results!!!! I am wondering if the air conditioner condenser is restricting air flow and should install a second fan in between the grill and condenser.

All the best Sarge!!!

It might be worth it to remove the harmonic balancer and look for part numbers or brand to see if it's the right one for your engine. Maybe it's the wrong year and it's throwing your timing readings off?? Just a suggestion.
