I am contemplating whether or not to switch to 5 lugs on my 87 gt. So all of yall that have done the converion is it worth it? Feedback Please!!!!!!!!

i got the 2 drums and 1 axle.. 28 splines you need another short axle out of a ranger thats all ,,its not nessary iam runing 9on 31 splines moser axles.on 4 lugs

It really gives you a lot more options when it comes to breaks and wheels.

if your running a set of 15" drag wheels and mainly drag i don't think it is but if you wan't some nice looking wheels or big brakes for the street or racing curves it is very well worth it.

i use the car street mostly and maybe a couple trips to the track a year. They do have 4 rear disc conversion dont they?

If you can find a four bolt rear disk conversion, let us know about it, because I don't believe there is one.

im not sure what it came out of but i saw a 8.8 rear with 4 lug disk at a swap meet once i though he wanted a little much.

Thats horse crap. The braking on my mustang is scary compared to newer cars. I have to be so much more cautious driving the mustang that when i drive my moms rsx. That thing stops on a dime.

doing a 5 lug swap has nothing to do with braking.

a upgraded brake kit has to do with braking.

IF YOU 5 LUGS AND BETTER braking go with newer ranger brakes ,,but will will nedd to chage over to 5 lugs that have bigger drums...

first add a set of svo calipers thier 76mm vs your 60mm they help a ton and are a direct swap....about 20.00 each at autozone
adding S.S. lines help as do mettalic rear shoes..
