In order to install a mechanical gauge, you need to remove the temperature sender and replace it with a fitting that allows you to install a probe that connects to the new gauge via a copper pipe. I believe you can find an adapter fitting that will allow you to reinstall your old sending unit so your dash gauge will remain operational. But its pretty basic stuff. Find a suitable place in the firewall to run the copper pipe, and suitable place in the car for the gauge to hang.
