Default 4.11's?

Can somebody please tell me how much faster 4.11's and a locker (opposed to the 2.60's w/ open now)will make my car? it runs (s)low 15's now, and that doesnt make me happy. I would just like to know if it will be worth the money. and by the way, I havent used it on the parkway since I got my daily driver. thanks

yes its worth the money and the 4.10's takes the power that you have now and just makes better use of it and gives you better acceleration. The locker will make it so that you car is able to have both tires lock up and spin at the same time instead of just one which gives you better traction.

If it's not your daily driver get 4.30's or 4.56's.

I have a 73 mach 1 with a 9" rear. Richmond makes a set of 4.11's for it. just to make sure, richmonds are the best right? I dont really want to go as low as 4.30's, because I was hesitant to get 4.11's for a while because I thought they were too steep. I am also going to put some power into it via supercharger or lots of head work, so I dont want it to just smoke the tires all day. thanks

Why not a locker? It would be nice if my car did wheelies. I'm not too into turns. are there any down sides besides the turning business?

I had 4:11s on my '69 Mach I, but only had the limited slip. It was absolutely worth the money. If this isn't going to be a daily driver, go for the locker.

first off, all 5.0's from '87 up were trac-lok 8.8's and didn't have anything as low as 2.60 gears. 2.73 maybe but it should lock when spun if it's not wore out or broken

check your door tag for "ax code"

m=2.73
z=3.08
e=3.27 (aod avail. only)

and the ford makes 4.10 for the 8.8, 4.11's are for 9"ers

but....to give you an idea, my old 5-speed notch w/ 4.10's and stock motor, long tubes, 2 1/2" cat back, southsides and an airbag went 13.20's on 26 X 10 .5" et streets

Its not a 5.0 It's a 73 mach 1 with a 351 cleveland. It has a 9" rear. I dont know the exact gearing, but its in the mid 2 range.
