Power Steering and Brakes went out
Hi all. So my Dad took his 2002 GT to a shop for inspection. They found a leak from the steering rack and convinced him to let them replace it. I really wish he would have let me know first... they replace the power steering rack and ever since he got it back his power steering and brakes do not work. Car isn't safe to drive. I owned this car before I sold it to him. I drive it frequently and took immaculate care of it. It had zero issues before he took it to them and now it's all messed up. I'm furious but he wants to try to fix it himself and im gonna help him out. We are thinking either the power steering pump or the hydro brake booster need to be replaced. Any ideas? The power steering fluid and brake fluid are in normal range and they said they bled the system out. I am so ticked off about all of this... this is the very reason I don't let anyone but ford touch my car. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks all.
Why not have the shop try to resolve the issue first since they caused it? Even if he already picked up the car, the parts and labor will have a warranty.
At the very least, since they replaced the rack and now the power steering doesn't work, they created a problem in the same system that was working before they worked on it. They have to at least get that working.
No idea about the braking system.
