I am brand new to the Mustang owner circle. I just purchased a 2011 Ford Mustang GT Premium. I am making this post to inquire about options that could have come from the factory or not.

The car is much louder than a normal 5.0 but when I looked at the exhaust it says “Ford”. It also has what appears to be an aftermarket air intake and the rear shocks also seem like maybe they are an upgraded feature from the stock factory set up.

my question is, was there performance packages on that generation of Mustang? Could my vehicle have stuff that came like this from the factory or did one of my previous owners put these bolt ons?

I apologize for the scatter brained nature of the question but I appreciate any information that can be provided. My wife and I bought this car as a weekend car show car and a project car for my son and I. Thank.

 

Welcome to the forum. Ford Racing developed handling and performance packs for their Mustangs which could be purchased aftermarket as well as options on some cars. Hard to tell which with the info provided.
