Default Newbie Question

What does it mean when you say catback exhaust such as flowmaster catback exhaust. Does this mean the cats are still there or completely removed. I know this is a no brainer question, just want some clarification. Thanks......

Default RE: Newbie Question

Cat back refers to the portion behind the cats... in our case, the very end of the exhaust. The mufflers are in the catback section.

Engine > Headers > Mid-pipe (H or X for the V8's... an off-road mid-pipe has no catalytic converters) > Cat-back (muffler portion) > open air

I think that solves it.

Default RE: Newbie Question

it includes everything behind the h-pipe. (mid pipes, muffs, tails) the h-pipe is the part that has the cats.

even a non-cat system is called catback.

3 parts to the whole thing, 1. headers, 2. h-pipe (or x or whatever you choose) 3. catback
