When the tires start to spin, it cuts fuel to the engine to keep engine from revving higher to help to keep car straight from spinning the tires. I have it and hate it. It sucks in other words, especially when you hit 2nd gear hard and it activates when your tires chirp. When I get my tuner, it will be turned off for good. Then I can do this without a problem[sm=gears.gif]

Yeah, but you need to do that every time you start the car. Not a big deal, but sometimes you would forget. But im getting a tuner when I get my gears and one of the options in the tuner is to shut off the traction control.

Here's what it does:

First applies the rear brakes enough to stop wheelspin, if the spin continues, or is very bad, it then retards the timing, which reduces the torque of the engine for approx. three seconds, if the wheels do not spin in that time, the timing returns to normal and the little light in the instrument cluster turns off.

when it breaks, it starts applying the breaks per wheel. that thing almost caused me to get in an accident rather than prevent it. i HATE TC. mine is perm disabled.

What's traction control? I never use it, even in the rain.

I guess I am confused, does it cut fuel or apply rear brakes?
My 03 uses a fuel cut, that I have disabled with Predator.

depends on the year. I believe the 04 and older will cut fuel if tire spin is severe enough.
