pi is performance improved. it is the heads, intake, cams that come on the 99+ GT. the 96-98 Gt's have the non-pi heads. It is what is making them more power.

yeah the 96-98 stangs have the non pi head/intake /cams and most people swap all that out with the newer stuff off a 99+. it gains like 60+ hp, but i hear it changes your compression a lot.

hey i have asked questions about swapping that out but never got an answer quite like that montana, it is true then that swapping the single port to split port with all the 99+ models that it will add that much hp ?the heads,intake,cam,tb,maf,.....and to go to split port what would u need4sure just the 99 stock heads intake and cam?...u dont need the tb and maf necessarily doyou?....also could this be a do it myself project?

surely it wouldnt add over 60 hp cuz the 99+s only have like what 45 more hp than the 98,and even only reason was the split port that would only bump it up to what the stock 99s hp is,if that...right? i sure would like it to be more than 60 hp though..

also whats the difference between doing thsi and stroking the 3.8 to the 4.2 with the kit?
sorry im just tryin to get used to all this stuff, im still a kid

Porsche... the PI swap is for the GT's.... not the v6's there, buddy.

And yes, they do gain 60+hp. I gained 55rwhp + I had 4.30's put in, so figure I gained 60RWHP. That's insane. It bumps your compression so you make MORE power than the 99+'s.
