Default Gears

I just got my 3.73 gears in for my car, i've been wanting to put them in but the cheapest i found for install is $350, what would be a good price for the install, my buddy just got some put in on his cobra from some guy in north carolina for $150, but he did it in his shop at his house, i'd go to him but i don't know his number or how to get there......

wow, you guys need to shop around. a ring and pinion swap can be done in 1 hour flat. any mechanic thats done it more than twice can do it in 1 hour. now the book time time is about 2-2 1/2 i think , which at $75 / hour would be about $190-ish

but because of supply and demand, most guys charge $200-$225, anybody charging more than that is just A$$-raping you

i paid $200 for a gear AND installation once from a ford mechanic who "got" gears from work. those are the friends to have.

i live in metro detroit......

hahaha.. no shat. the shop i went to, they could do it with their eyes closed. they had the gears installed in like 45 minutes. it would have been a lot faster, but some people came in the shop that were talkin with him, then showing him their ride and ask questions.
