Yea. I know some people can't afford a second car. But i always laugh at people in the middle of a blizzard, tring to drive up the road in a Mustang.

lots of snow here but i have a winter car, a funny suggestion which i dont know how well it would be i think it migh be an alaska thing but try some tire chains

yea chains are illegal here in wisconsin also, most cops frown on them <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"> i ended up putting about 125 pounds of extra weight in my trunk right above the axle and that gave it some more traction, but now if im going round a corner i get a little more slippage in the back end, its not that bad driving in the winter, my school road never gets plowed so there is a good 2 inches of ice build up and about 3 inches of snow on it, i make it through with ease but getting started going is the hard problem, and if i just went to buy some old rims and tires, do i need to look for anything special? i have a 96 gt, thanx for everyones input so far

looking for second set of rims, if you want to stay cheap find some steelies the best tire would be a studded snow tire plus they make some nice sparks when you spin on pavement studded tires can be used all winter like a regualr tire so you dont have to change back and forth or you coud even use a regular snow tire most tire places have deals on steelies with snow tires

Blackmage I have a 2003 GT that I have to drive in the snow too, and I have about 350 lbs of tube sand in my trunk. It's a huge help when I have to go thru snow (I live in St. Louis so it's hit and miss all the time). Your gas mileage will SUCK but at least you'll be able to halfway move around.

Theres a salvage yard here that sells used tires that are basically new for no higher than 40 bucks!Try and find something man thats a wreck waiting to happen.</P>


You really should find a beater and put the stang up.I found a 88 EXP 5 speed that is perfect in every way.Its never even been smoked in.And i only paid 400 bucks for it and so far the only thing i've had to replace aside from a tune up was a tps sensor.</P>


Theres good deals out all over you just have to know where to look.In my case i have friends with dealers licenses and they keep an eye out for whatever i may be into at the time.But im sure you can get a beater for a good price.You may even consider having to do a little work to get it going to lower the price.</P>
