Default air intake help

I was thinking about doing an air intake upgrade. Obviously this has to be a custom job because its a 4 banger, but will I have to change anything else if I do the intake change? And would I be able to use one of those nice intakes instead of like one of those crappy custom jobs where they use like a vacuum nozzle?

In that case, dont put anything into it. Maybe give it a good detail or something and save the money and invest it in the new one.

Some people have made some pretty cool looking PVC pipe looking intakes. I'm sure if you take some measurements and get some cuplers....you could rig one up that doesnt look cheap. You could paint it silver...black. Make it look sweet.

we got the filter off ebay. hahaha

and we got those blue rubber things from a hardware store. they are called glompers or something like that. or something with a G... its been half a year now sinse we made that for him.

and the piping is just 3 and a half inch. which is 90mm. (Lightings are 90mm MAF's so it would actually run perfect with a 90MM maf, but we just kept the stock MAF... )

what we did was go to a muffler shop and asked for 3 and a half inch piping and just bend the end part for us. we mocked up the stock intake to see which angle we needed. and gave them a mock up of what kind of angle we needed the bend. and BAM! it was all done. we actually knew the guy at the muffler shop so it didn't cost a thing..

but iam sure it wont be much.. its just 1 bend..
