catted has catalytic converters on it off road has straight none.

off road will give you more hp but won't pass emmitions thats why they are for off road use only. pfffff if you don't have to pass emmisions go for the o/r get some o2 sims cost you about 200 bucks total if you shop around a little.

o/r will be cheaper by about 200 or more bucks. they give a couple more hp, at most, but the sound of the o/r is sweet. plus, it weighs less.

if a cop looks under your car (haha, like that'll ever happen) you can be fined a ****load of money for not having cats. and also for inspection. other than that, get the o/r one.

true, and if its an older stang like mine, you can tell him it came stock without cats. the only way he can check is to find the official FORD specs for the car. like that will happen!

My Bassani catted X has 2 cats instead of the factory 4 and the best thing is that i got about 20-25 miles more per tank after i installed it. I have emissions here in town, so i couldn't go with an offroad.

emissions, EMISSIONS, WE DONT NEED NO STEENKING EMISSIONS! but, there is a great way to get around emissions. when you go to get your car inspected, put the stock catted pipe on, then when you get home, put the o/r pipe back on. my cousin does it with his 85 gt in CT every year. i dont have to, cause in NH we dont have emissions. just for cars with OBDII, they have to get checked for all good codes, which means no o/r pipes for the inspection day.

so the solution is to lower your car so far that you just can't see underneath it?

tests have shown cats really dont have much effect on performance, so its up to you whether you want to spend the extra money and/or deal with the hassle of switching the cats on/off if that is the case.
