Default tires for daily driver

well i wanted to get the mickey thompson et street radial. but i just called a store and he said they would only last 4,000 miles... This is for my daily driver so i don't think that will do me any good. Any ideas what tires i should get? Right now i get no traction in 1st or 2nd gear, with STOCK gearing. I'm getting 4.10's in a few weeks.

edit: yea i get no traction in 2nd gear with stock gearing... let alone 4.10's and pressing that little red button that says NX on it...

btw... i dont drive in the rain

michelen piolet sports, they are a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for, my uncle has them on his 911, and even in the rain, all anyone who drives it can get a chirp from second and thats it.

What are looking for in a tire? All weather performance? Dry only performance? What characteristics are you looking for?

well i rarely drive in the rain, so id be more willing to put every dollar toward somthing that will last a while (daily driver) but will be able to handle 400 horse power in low gears without breaking traction.

It's kind of a catch 22. The higher level of performance you want out of your rubber, the shorter the tire's life will be. You will have to accept some sacrifice somewhere. I say go with some better rubber and sacrifice some tire life. Some rubber recommendations are the BFG KD (the KDW is all weather), the Bridgestone SO2 (the SO3 is an all weather tire), the Toyo proxy series, the new Michelin pilot sports (although they are pricey).

i would probably just go with like a kumho 711 they won't last you the 40k but they are cheap enough that you could replace them. then grab you a extra set of rear wheels and toss the dragraidals on them.

that guy you talked to,, he is OFFICIALLY F*ING RETARDED

ive got more than 2K on my tires already and i am showing NO SIGNS AT ALL of tread wear

call him back and tell him to go stick his foot in his butthole and then go buy them from somewhere else

they are excellent tires, i bogged the car down cause they were so sticky the only time i went to the track with them, and i had 4.10's and some minor mods

The MT has a treadwear of like 0 or 50 i can't remember..why not go with 555r's,good dry traction even on the street and last around 12-15k miles, plus they are pretty cheap compared to other tires.
