about the core, the hole is in the fire wall... why is it there? its a rubber nub thing and looks like a hose could have been there but it got cut, this isnt the heater hoses up top this hole is below them like a foot and drips fluid, i was thinking plug it up, i had filled the system up a little full do this mean something to that

if your leaking antifreeze into the inside your heater core is gone dont make my mistake and put if off do it asap the antifreeze adds up in the carpet especially when you contstantly top off your fluid
well im not gonna worry to hard cause i know they leak when broken and leak inside the car, but this is from the engine bay, confuxing to me...

ill just jam a rag in the hole, and ask the previous owner a thing or two...

If you have a/c, the hole is probably there to vent condensation. Plugging the hole will let the antifreeze **** into the car interior. I bought my car with a bad heater core. The owner had plumbed in gate valves to shut it off. You can probably find a piece of pipe or tubing that will fit inside the hoses. Then the heater will just be bypassed. Heater core replacement requires draining the A/C system , and pulling the dash loose. I modified my heater with an access plate. Lucky thing I did, because the new core leaked!
