Default tire help

Im getting new tires for xmas right now I have 245/50 16 on the back and 225/55 16 on the front. Should I go with a different size? I have BIG problems hooking up. What brand would everyone recommend? Ive been looking at kumho but have heard they dont last very long. Also been looking at g forces, nitto , toyos which I have now and am have the before mentioned problem. Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Well you could go with a set of drag radials if you really wanted to. The size is good you could step up to a 255 but you might run into clearance issues if you ever have lots of people in the back of it. Nitto D/R's offer alright traction but have a higher mileage than the Mickey Thompsons but the Mickey Thompsons hook a hell of a lot more. As for just street radials I have no idea really.

Let me ask you this. Do you want drag radials or high performance street tires?

those are the same exact sizes i have on my 90 fox. if they ever start making the ponyr rims i want to get the 17x9 rims for the back with 275/40/17 tires. then id move the 245s from the back and put them up front. what year mustang do you have and what size are your rims and would you be willing to buy bigger ones?

you could get more traction with some suspension mods. good lower control arms make a difference if you still have a stock suspension

If you are looking for an all dry, sticky street tire, I recommend BFG KD's, Bridgestone SO2's or Michelin pilot sports. Of those three, I think for the $ the KD's and SO2's are the best deal.
