Default smog pump eliminator kit

I'm wanting to doing a smog pump delete. My questions are, what will that do to the computer (codes)? What will happen to the cross over tubes (back of the motor), and the pipe coming from the h-pipe? I know that I will get a couple of horses out of it. I'm doing it because my smog pump needs to get replaced and I don't feel like paying $150 for a new pump when I can buy an eliminator kit for $50. Any insight on this would be great.

Why pay 50 bucks for an eliminator kit when you can take the pump out and get a shorter belt?
