Default x vs. h

i have an 01 mustang gt with super 40 flowmaster exhaust and i was planning to change my stock h pipe, which would be better for me with a good sound and performance ,X pipe or H pipe

also i was thinking about tires for drag racing, should i get slicks or radials and how much time will they take off my et.

Can you list the brands i should get

perfomance wise theres not enough diffence to matter on a street car but a x pipe will give a little more upper end hp. sound wise the h is deeper and louder and a x it a little more raspy i have a x pipe with flowmasters and love it.

X has a top end scream sound. H has a lower deeper rumble... depends what you preffer, X adds a couple extra ponys over an H. as for brand i like MAC, they're inexpesive and look real nice. expect around 10hp gain.

slicks will give you the best results but they're not for street use, DRs are street legal but won't cut down your time as much. depends how serious you are about drag racing. i only go 4-5 times a year so i wouldn't invest in slicks + i prefer knowing what the car can run on the street.

Nobody can answer that. The best (most accurate) answer is that they will give you more traction that street tires. If your car is not a "track only" car or you don't want to change tires, drag radials are YOUR best bet. I have BFG's and they hook plenty good.

you'll probably want a H with your Crapmaster mufflers. Get aluminized so they will rust out the same time as your Mufflers

h for shure
I second that. I had an x and went back to an H. The x was too high pitched at higher rpm`s. The H is a much better sound IMO. Nice and deep. Your flows will sound better with an H. It all depends on what kind of sound you prefer. As for power. Both equal about the same throughout the powerband.

it's a personal thing, do you preffer a high pitch scream or a deep rumble ?
