Default Dad is looking for 911 Turbo...

My dad is looking to buy a sports car, I tried to convince him to get a mustang or Cobra but he wont listen, he insists on a Porsche.

But enough of that, hes looking for a later model Porsche, I dont know what year really im thinking its in between 92-97 its the one with the really fat end and huge tires on the rear.

I tried looking them up but I donno if there it.

He wants the Porsche that was in the one "Bad Boys" movie, the first one.

If anyone can help me out would be awsome.

i have driven my grandpa 911 carrera, and it was fun. i would rather have a cobra though. there isnt much torque down low. it was fun, no doubt. great brakes and handling, but worth the $100k he has put into it (he has some interior upgrades)

Obviously I could be considered biased. If he has only one "fun" car to get, and particularly if he does not want to get into hot rodding (there are alot more, cheaper and fun mods available for Mustangs, etc.) the turbo would be a fine choice. Porsche Turbos are FAST, and they handle very well -- I personally don't think they handle as well as a vette, but a lot of people do, a few think they handle better. What I can tell you is that they are about the smoothest, most linear and pleasing car to drive imaginable, just close to driving perfection. Its hard to communicate exactly why but it clear from the mment you get behind the wheel that they were designed from the git-go as a drivers car.

And the build quality is hard to argue with: well designed, top quality materials, and ver well screwed together, durable as an anvil. Believe it or not, parts are not that expensive(although they sometimes take a while to get), but labor costs at dealers are ridiculously high.

they handle better than the old vettes. I think the new c6 handles better than the porsche.

if your dad is looking for the bad boys style porsche then its a 930 or a 964, the 964 is basically the exact same body with a bit more power. basically this body style was made from 1975 to 1992 if im not wrong maybe 1993. after that it was the 993. the 930 turbo has 300 hp and 320 torque and does mid 13 1/4 mile, VERY good handling cars , i speak from experience my father has one. great cars
