Default "a silver switch"

Are Mustang GT's from 99-04 supposed to have a little silver switch down below the steering column? You can move it side to side, but I have always left it alone because I dont know what its used for. Can anyone help? Thanks.

DEAR GOD DON"T TOUCH THAT SWITCH!!!!!It's for the ejection seat. The roof will be blown clear of the car and then both front seats will fly straight up about 100 feet.
Did you but the car new?Because if not I'd say that someone put in an anti theft switch, fuel pump shutoff,or maybe a spark disabler??I went outside and looked under my dash and there is no switch like that.
Start her up and flip the switch and see what it does.

I've moved it a couple of times, but I've always put it back. It was on the car when I bought it. Dont all Stangs, or the 99-04's, maybe just the GT's I dont know, but they came with an alarm and another thing just to unlock, lock and open the trunk, I have a brain cramp right now and cant thing of what its called. But I dont have a remote starter. So I really dont know what the hell it is. What would I need an anti-theft switch for?

i dont knwo if any of them came with a stock car alarm to be honest with you, at least mine didnt

and i cant remember that thing either, where you dont have you use the key to get inside, you can enter the car or pop the trunk w/o the keys.. damn, umm, you can gain entry with no keys?

hmm,,, i'll get back to you on what its called when you can gain 'entry keyless' [8D]
