RE: SHIPPING A VEHICLE!!!
heh. I'm trying to go to korea myself, or Ft Bliss. Are you married? Do you plan on getting married soon? The reason I'm asking, is that if you got married to someone in Mass, the govt will pay to get her household goods shipped to you (including your car). Not sure if it's much help, but I'm trying. Ill ask around tomorrow and see if I can come up with a way around only one household goods shipment, I know there are ways around it because I know people that have done the exact thing your wanting. I'll have an update for you tomorrow.
Isn't the military great?

RE: SHIPPING A VEHICLE!!!
I checked with a buddy of mine who owns a car hauling business. He says that $860.00 is a good price. He wouldn't go any lower than $995.00. I was hoping to help you out since he and me are based out of Az. Good Luck.

RE: SHIPPING A VEHICLE!!!
I just shipped one recently.
there are many websites for companies that do this, the prices will vary greatly.
The key is to find a company based near one end of the route, they will give you the best deal.
There are also some broker companies out there, kind of like price line.com. If you are not on a tight schedule, they put the route out to a whole bunch of companies and the lowest bidder will be referred to you I saw prices from 1400 to 600 for my route. I chose one at 720 because they had a better schedule.

RE: SHIPPING A VEHICLE!!!
I sold my 80 Trans AM to a guy from Colorado
7 years ago. He flew out to Newark, I picked him
up at airport, He bought it sight unseen (wow
it was not in mint condition). And started
driving on rt 80. Broke down 3 times but
got there. He said he was happy.
Bet it dost him some!

Hahahah...I sometimes wonder if people even read the original post to a thread.
If you have the time, go buy some 3m clear protectant film. Put it on your front bumper. Put it along the bottom of your ground effects on the driver side, put it on your mirrors, headlights and call it a day. Your car is likely to be driven through some sandy/windy area's and will get sand blasted on the highway.
Cars are shipped daily, by the thousands so whoever said they've heard horror stories, quit listening to your cousins friend whose brother's uncle had his brand new car fall off the top of a delivery truck. It's perfectly safe to have your car shipped.
