Default forgeing internals

so, how exactly do you get forged internals for a 4.6 cobra engine? do you send all the parts out to some place and they do it for you? do you buy them already forged? I wanted to get my engine forged because i wanted to get a s/c or a turbo. I also wanted to know if there is anything i should do to the stock T45 transmission. i know this might seem like the dumbest questions to some of you, i'm just really, really new to the whole car mechanics stuff. Thanks for understanding.

GOD Bless you all!!!

you will already have a forged crank so you need rods and pistons.

ho boy i think you need to just take the car to a machine shop and tell then what your end goal is and let then get the right parts.

transmistion t56 six speed or tko 500 or tko600 five speed.

a simple yes or no, get this or that, or got to this website would've helped alot, car shops tend to take advantage of you when you don't know crap, thats why i wanted to inform myself first, then of course i would've gone to a shop. no hard feelings though, thanks for the replies. tko it is then.

GOD Bless all!!!

Well there is no simple yes or no the most of the time.

If you're looking for brands, Manley makes good stuff... that's the only one I can think of off the top of my head, the seem to be more common than any others. It's what's in the 03-04 Cobras, and it looks like from their site, in the Ford GT's too. http://www.manleyperformance.com/ They sell pistons and connecting rods, both of which you'll need.

As for the transmission, just swap it. Like it was said before, a T-56 which is in the 03-04 Cobras (99+ too, maybe? it's a six speed), or a TKO. http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English/home/home.asp Do some research on the transmissions on their (Tremec's) site, and decide what torque you want to be at, and buy the proper transmission. They under-rate all their transmissions, though. So you can probably get away with one that is rated for less torque than you have.

I will throw this on here as well.. I am sure he will be curious about it eventualy. Are there any good upgrades for the heads on the DOHC 4.6? I can only find stock replacements and the SOHC heads when I search. I am thinking about a P&P job down the road unless I can find some really awesome flowing heads and just do a swap.. I cant P&P but I can damn sure pull the heads scrape and replace gaskets and mount the new ones.... [&:]

i think livernois does a p&p job on 4v heads other wise you have a 97 witch are consided the worst fo the 4v heads the cobra r are considered the best but the o3 o4 mach and cobra heads are consided very good but you will also need to upgrade the intake to make them work.
