2003 GT convert
I've reposted here, because this looks like a higher traffic area than the new member's area. We are contemplating the purchase of a leftover '03 convertible. 4.6 auto. What are the real world issues regarding ride comfort for a six foor driver, adults in the rear for very short distances and winter driving. The car seems to be a reasonable compromise for a convert. with some storage space at a reasonable price. </P>

It would be fine for you, I'm 6' too, mine is a '00 Vert GT. Regarding the rear seats, i would say that it seats two, yes two kids comfortably that is. An adult sitting right behind you would be a problem for leg room. For winter and rain driving get a good set of tires for the season and if it has Tract control that'l be a a nice xtra. One question, why auto...and not the5 speed, it will be cheaper and will perform much better. AOD 's and peformance cars are not a good match, you'l loose the fun part of it.

My wife is tired of manual trans.She always used to have aches in her left leg. After getting rid of her manual trans truckthey went away.She would be driving the car also and we have to consider that.</P>

Yeah, I'm 6'2 and there's almost no way I can sit in the back of my car unless it's sideways and there's no one in it with me. But short people or kids will be ok. Sorry about the wife and the manual. The auto Mustangs are noticeably slower.

im 5.11 and have no leg room whats so ever..seat is back all the way ..knees are in the dash,,and door panel<edited><editID>hotrodman</editID><editDate>38021.7128935185</editDate></edited>

I'm 6'2" and sit with my seat nearly all the way back. There's no way I fit in the back seat, unless like JHonor said: sitting sideways with no one else back there. All in all it's a pretty comfortable fit except for the occasional acrobatics of just getting into and out of the car without hitting the steering wheel. I will warn people, that if they have a choice they shouldn't sit behind me--no way I'm moving my seat forward. <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">
