a little help please!!!!
I've never been around mustangs much so please forgive my ignorance.
My friends 88GT was wrecked last night and now we cannot get it to start. there is only minor cosmetic damage in front, and damage in rear. the car was modded by previous owner, and it has an edlebrock carb on it for reference. i found the switch in the back and pressed it, (a safety switch i was told?) but still wont start, it will turn over and crank for a sec if you put a little gas in the carb, but its not getting fuel. I cant hear the fuel pump prime when the ign is on, i suspect this is the culpret, but what could have happened to the pump? thanks, sorry for sounding like an idiot, just need help

if it's carb'd you won't hear the fuel pump. and the inertia switch is also non-op
so those are not your problem.
can't be for sure where to start....maybe from the engine and trace the fuel lines back to the tank looking for any damage...like a kinked/bent line

ok correct me if im wrong but i didnt think carbs had a electrical fuel pump to run um less you put one on your self. I always thought it was a mechanical pump run by your cam.
The only electrical in line fuel pump that i seen was the one i put on my 1987 power ram because the mechanical one went bad and i got this one for free.
