Default Bumpy Ride

Lately my mustang hasnt been very comfortable driving. Everylittle bump, crack, manhole cover, anything on the road that i drive over i feel it greatly. Is it my shocks or my struts that have gone or something else like axle wise.

push down on each corner of the car the car shouldn't bounce more than twice if it does you need shocks or struts.

I don't know about all that pushing on the car. I bought a car that is 17 years old and they guy that I bought it from said that the front shocks had never been replaced. I can push on the corner of the car and it will not bounce at all. but when I drive the car I get the same thing you do. I did replacled the springs with some ford racing B springs and new front lower control arms. So all that pushing really doesn't work for me and I would just replace the struts and shock like i'm going to.

struts should be replace about every 40 to 50k miles so i would say your probably over that.
FMS B springs
that could be part of it too.

fyi most of the time a bad strut or shock won't cause a bad ride just bad handling infact i have had customers get mad bacause there rid quality went down with new struts and shocks. the only time it stiffins is if the shock freezes up for som reason.

I'm sure that the ride quility was going to go down but not feel like the wheels are going to fall off. I had this guy I work with check my car out and he said that I need new struts and shocks and that it feels like the wheel bearing need to get replaced also. I'm also going to get new rims and tires just to make sure that everthing is new.

Check the tire pressure. If they are over inflatted it will ride hard too.

Is it cold out? The GTO rides like the Flintstone's car when it's below 25. I actually turned around and took my Jeep yesterday. It seriously felt like it had 4 flat tires.

I have checked the tire pressure and it felt like it got worse. The pressure was at about 35 which is to much so I put it back to 32. It almost feels like the tires have balled up. Thats why I plan on putting new struts, shocks, rotors, wheel bearing, rims and tires. just to make sure that theres nothing else that could be causing this.
