Default At a crossroads

Could start ordering stuff to mod my 4R70W auto tranny on my 96 gt tonight or I could save up and over the summer work on a 5 spd swap. The dlimena comes in the fact that I can do the tranny swap so the parts are the only real cost, where as the auto I would be able to shift somewhat, with the whole 1-2-D thing wiht a new valve body and it would actually do something. Bottom Line= is it worth it?

well i love my 5 speed but let me ask this what kind of drivingt do you do?

if you are a road racer auto x or open track typ thing get the 5 speed if you are a drag racer stay with a built auto. if its just mainly a DD go with what you like.

I would suggest the auto, and if you want to upgrade your 4R70W - just add a kit, cooler, and a tuner. I have an auto, and thats what I am going to do.

so thats everyone's verdict? stay auto? I have a cool idea but idk if its gonna work. I was gonna take a bauman shift kit, which connects to your cruise control buttons and allows you to upshift and downshift manually. Now I dont like using the cruise control buttons, I was gonna try to rig a + and - shifter, idk the name of that, to it. Anybody think this is possible?
