Okay I heard something recently that sounded very interesting but need more on the subject...</P>

I heard that you can use tranny fluid in your motor as a clean up to get out corrosion etc. and that it is good for seals... I was told to fill it up and let it run till warm then empty it back out and go on using normal use oil....</P>

??????????</P>

Another is you can use it with hot water in a carb too clean out intake?????????</P>

No you dont use tranny fluid in place of the oil but you can use a quart or a 1/2 quart in your engine and run that through to clean it out. Some guys stand by this and swear by it.I personally havent done it to any of my cars but have seen it done to others and it does clean them out but i just dont want to risk it in any of mine.</P>

As far as the water goes no soap just water and you just take a spray bottle and add it that way.Technically its steam cleaning.</P>

But trying these can have bad effects of done wrong.Especially the tranny fluid.</P>

To be honest i would do a couple of oil changes rather than use those methods. If i were you i would change the oil and filter replace it all run it a day or two and change it again and do so until the oil looks like it did when it wnt in.This may be a little costly but which is more costly a rebuild or a few oil changes?</P><edited><editID>TheGmKiller331</editID><editDate>38029.0069444444</editDate></edited>

Yea, I usually drain out about 8oz or so of the oil, then add backsome AOD tranny fluid in the crankcase and run the engine for a little while. It cleans out the gunk a good deal. Go get some magnetic drain plugs too for more help.</P>

I'd personally use Marvel Mystery Oil every once in a while if you're worried about this.....as for the water trick.....why not run water/alcohol injection? <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

Jeep I agree on the water injection, but use only Distilled water, and Water Injection kits arent too expensive, just $400 dollars to get increase horsepower, reliability, cooling, and cleaning. For $400 its worth it, im surprised more people dont do the water injection thing. You only have to fill up your water tank with ever tank of gas, and its only a few quarts.</P>

As for misting water into your MAF or TB or Carb I would only use distilled water again because it has no deposits it can leave in your engine that would harm it. Distilled water is like good pure clean rain water, Or steam that gathers, cools and pools. You can either make your own distilled water or just buy it for like $50 cents a bottle.</P>

The water trick is good, my grandpa uses it every so often. But something that is better is <FONT color=blue>SeaFoam</FONT>. Napa Auto parts are the only ones that sell it as far as I know of but it BLASTS everything out of your engine. Just let your car drink about 1/2 of it through the TB or carb or untill it dies, then let sit for 5-10 minutes, then come out and let idle for 15 or so minutes or untill the smoke is gone.... It will billow vast clouds of white smoke from your car, but thats all the deposits coming out of your engine. If you use it alot then you will get less and less smoke each time because there is less to come out.</P>
