ford vs chevy
damn dude that question couldn't be more vague if you tried... ford and chevy are both great, choose one and build it, that's all i can say about that unless you give out more details.
Well im not talking about modified engines. i mean if ford manufactored the mustang with there stock verson of a 351 in there gts, cobras, etc. how would they might fair against lets say the stock gm v8s.
The question is impossible to answer, ESP. since you said you are talking about modified engines. The sky is the limit man. Like HC said who really cares pick one and have fun with it, there will always be someone faster.

there gonna be about the same now a days you can buy the ford parts just as cheap as the chevy parts it really depends on how bad a engine you want and what you do the the car. a 1000hp chevy and a 1000 hp ford are gonna be pretty evenly matched up.,
sorry its a misprint. i meant to say im not talking about modified engines. look i dont know a whole lot about engines beyond the basics. but i love my mustang. im surrounded by a ocean of gm drivers who constantly compare there stock camaros, trans, firebirds, vettes to stock gts cobras etc. and i was just wondering why ford dosnt make a stock mustang that runs on the side of these cars. or am i incorrect
Ford made the Mustang as more of an everymans car and it sold quite well as such. Two to one I believe.Slightly cheaper insurance, better aftermarket support, and the ability to run 87 octane fuel in the GT all combined to make Mustang a winner in the marketplace.
The Mustang responds well to performance upgrades engine and suspension and is still fun to drive with no mods at all.I read a comment in a magazine once that made sense also."Driving a Mustang makes you feel young, instead of making you look like a kid".

Making horsepower out of an engine is all just one big equation with a bunch of variables. These include, but are not limited to, displacement, fuel delivery, forced induction, compression, ignition, fuel type, valve lift and duration etc. It all depends on what the manufacturer decides to put on their "stock" engine.
Ford and chevy both make great engines, it's just a matter of what they do with them.
