Default Any shifter NOT causing problems???

Well,

I was all set to put some money down for a new Hurst shifter and ran into some of the threads. Seems like almost everyone who has bought a shifter out there is having some problems...

Just curious if anyone has installed a shifter and isn't having problems.

Thanks

Derck

No problem at all with my Hurst...........................approx 1000 miles. The main thing to ask yourself is, what is your expectations?
Don't expect it to be as mushy and quiet as the factory shifter. It's a performance part. You will give up a little "comfort" for better performance. I have absolutely no complaints. It shifts very positive (slightly more effort due to the short throw) I can't imagine missing a gear with this shifter. It looks really cool too....................................

I'm happy with mine and is does not take more effort to shift except to reverse which is ok with me. The only thing I notice is that it has a slight growl in 5th gear but thats ok too cause it makes it sound mean. [:@]

I have the hurst and love it. It may make a little noise hear and there but that's hot rodding for you!! I did have to tighten the shift lever up twice but it looks so cool in the car its worth it.In many years of modifing cars ive found that every thing you do to one will cause some little problem!!!!!

I, too am wondering the same thing! In fact, I want to purchase the "new" hurst shifter and want some details from people who know more about it or have bought it. Here is my post: https://mustangforums.com/m_1221247/tm.htm

+1 for the Pro 5.0. Best feeling shifter I have ever owned.

I might as well toss in the Tri-Ax. Compared to the stock shifter, it's breasts and buttocks better.

I bought the Saleen adapter thing. I love it. It was super easy to put on and I kind of like the stock look of things. So if you're not sure about spending $300+ spend $50 and get the Saleen thing.
