Default Classic stoplight kill

Coming home from work wednesday night in my 06 GT 5M, I pull up next to a new WRX, we're waiting out the light, his windows are so blacked out I can't tell if he wants to run or not. He does, at the green we both hit it, he's immediately got a 1/2 car on me, we both keep digging, I got a good shift into 2nd and started to reel him in real good, at the shift into 3rd, I had him by 1/2 length and walked him till we both shut down at about 100. My car is stock except I'm running the Predator 91 oct canned tune with 2 degrees added, no CAI or anything else. I don't think I would have gotten him with the stock 87 tune though. They get off the line quick, but won't stay with a tuned GT 5 speed.

Nice kill.

How do you like the extra 2 degrees of timing? Any issues with ping on 91-93 octane fuel?

I run 93 oct fuel here in Southern Indiana and the 2 degrees extra adds a little more seat of the pants kick and it runs smoother too. I got a good launch with hardly any wheelspin or I think it would have been a lot closer.

If I dial in 4 degrees, it'll ping with a little throttle, but 2 degrees seems just right with the 93 oct gas on the 91 tune

Nice

It's funny to me, at the WRX forums I frequent, it is "I killed a new GT" threads... but this is the first "I killed a new WRX" thread. Too funny.

New WRX. I bet his only "mods" were tint.

Which WRX? The base impreza model or the STi? Because the regular WRX only has 230HP.

I didn't see if it was an STI or not but there's no way a 230 HP car would run like that. I'm not up on the Japanese cars with all those silly a$$ letter and number designations.
