Hey guys, I'm beginning to look into buying a convertible V8. I've heard there are some serious dealer markups this time of year...is this true? Basically, I'm just looking for my best options on this matter...aren't we all?

Thanx

my way they want msrp and a $1,000 dollar mark up...but dont pay that and shop around. W/ gas going for the sky and alot of mustangs hitting the dealers, you should be able to get a deal.

I would definitely not pay more than MSRP. Here in South Texas they are selling for about $1000 less than MSRP depending on the stealer.

Don't pay over MSRP? Don't pay over invoice. You can get one at invoice. If you don't, or at least close to it, you're doing something wrong. I did, many others did. This isn't 2005 anymore.

i do have to agree w/ airforce, but at the same time... your are can afferct the price a little. Alot of places my way (south new jersey) dont want to go below msrp. but I'm sure if you shop around enough; you'll get a good price.

Yeah, I'm going to repeat what they said. Don't pay over MSRP! I bought my 05 last april and was lucky to not have to pay over MSRP. I think now that the demand has gone down since 05, paying anything MSRP is stupid. None of the dealers around me are charging over MSRP since they have several stangs in stock. It might depend on where you live though and how many stangs they have available. You're also looking for a convertible and now is the time when everybody starts looking for one since it's almost summer. Convertibles might be hard to find right now, but keep looking. Dealers might tell you that you have to pay over MSRP because of the time of year, but that's not true. Good luck in your search!

invoice is the price the dealer buys the car for form ford, no one in their right mind that isn't a personal friend of his is going to sell one of their mustang GT's and not make a single dollar in the process...
