Evolution tune
Just wondering if anyone has had any problems with the evolution tune as it changes a lot more settings then most, also since its a more agressive timing (from what i under stand) is gas milage still increased with the intake/tune, or am i gonna be even worse then a Hummer drivin up a mountain?

RE: Evolution tune
I have a problem with Evolution tune. I received the C&L / SCTII Combo package some weeks ago and installed the 93 tune when tank was emptied and filled up with 93 gas. I was amazed by the power, but soon notised light "pinging" at high rpm, from 4500 rpm and up. I chnged to the 91 tune still running 93 gas, and do not notise any pinging with this tune, but there is alo less power. I have swapped bak to 93 tune a couple of times with new gas on the tank, but still the same problem so I do not dare to use this tune anymore. I called Fred about this and he claims this is due to the new gas with 10% ethanol, and says I have to use the 91 tune. He also said all new 93 tunes are the same as the old 91 tune...... I believed that the ethanol had a much higher octane number (110 or so) and do not understand Fred's explanation. So, all in all I'm not to excited, even if the 91 tune is better than stock. Guess one should get the car custom tuned, canned tunes will unleash the beast.........

RE: Evolution tune
No problems with my 93 octane tune from Fred, but from reading other posts on the topic of octane ratings, I made sure that I filled up at a gas station that did not add ethanol to the 93 octane. I know BP adds up to 10% to their super premium gas.

I will switch between 87 and 93 depending on prices and what I am doing that weekend (ie, racing or not)
