Default Question about GTs hp....

Hey guys. Im new here and I got a question regarding the horsepower of the GT. Supossedly its 300hp, right? But i've read some posts saying that its really closer to 260-270hp. I was just curious about this and wanted to know if its true, and if so, why.

I recently bought a new GT and I really dont know much about cars.

ok, it is 300, but simply put, thats at the engine, then when u add all the parts it has to move to get your rear wheels going its about 270ish at the Rear wheels.

Even simpler put

Engine power=300 power to the ground = 270

Every single car is like that, if acura says there rsx is 200 hp thats at the crank not at there single front wheel that spins like a **** trying to get traction thats just how car companies rate there cars

Also, look for 'rwhp' after the numbers. That indicates 'rear wheel hp' as described by GTO6GT, which is approx. 85%(Note: this is for a manual tranny, an auto tranny is a few % lower) of the engine's rated crankshaft/flywheel hp that you see in ads, media articles, etc.
