Default White-lettered tires

I'm not old-enough to remember the "good old days", but I know a good looking white-lettered tire when I see one. Somone needs to tell me why nobody makes these things anymore. I think they look awesome as they're spinning down the road and think they'd look real good on my stock 18's with my black GT. Has anybody been able to find any and do you all think I'm stupid for even wanting some? I know they wouldn't look real good on a real low-profile tire, but I think my sidewalls are plenty tall for some raised white letters. What does everyone else think?

Like a '94?

I think they could look good but I would probably want to see them on a S197 before I plopped down the cash.

You are correct, I originally wanted RWL tires. but nobody makes them in 17" or 18" for a car. Several people make them for a truck, but do you really want to put truck tires on a car? [:'(]

I am betting that someone will come out with one though!

I saw a thread on another site a while back of a screaming yellow with black stripes/accents with 15" or 16" wheels and white letter tires. It looked great but I remember them saying they had to change out the brakes cause the stock GT brakes can only go down to a 17" wheel. It did look awesome and very retro, but I dont think it would look good on 17" or bigger wheels.

I've also thought about Raised White Letter tires on my GT. but they do look good on my '70 GTO, BF Goodrich T/A Radials.
