Default ECU Tuner...which one?

In researching I've found that apparently the
Diablo Predator and the
SCT Xcaliber2
seem to be the leaders here.

The only thing I've noticed (or appeared to have noticed) is the
Diablo comes with an 87 Octane tune included.

So what's the pluses and minuses of both?

Are either detactable to dealers computers? If so, do they allow you
to revert back to a "stock" setting so the dealers computers won't
detect any ECU flashing?

Really, there is not a lot of difference in the two. I have a Diablo and love it. There are three loaded tunes, the 87, 91 and "performance tune" which is the 93 tune. All have adjustable parameters and you can have custom tunes added as well. I had a custom dynotune done and stored in my Predator. As far as the stock tune, yes, it is stored in the programmer and can be flashed back to the car at anytime.

I too would like more feedback here. Good questions I think.

They are both pretty much equal. If you have a custom tuner then the deciding factor is simple:

Ask him which one he is more comfortable and knowledgeable with and go with that one...period.

Exactly. If you intend to do any dynotuning, ask the tuner in your area what he is most familiar with.

Musiccity GT,

Did you notice a difference between the canned tune and the custom tune with the predator?

I am not Musiccity.. but I let my tuner guy do the work.. he knows the engine better than I do .. plus I don't think you are going to get a can tune to be as
good as a custom tune done by your "tuner guy"

Absolutely. I gained 28 RWHP and 33 RWTQ over the canned 93 tune with just the dynotuning. Not only that, I know that the A/F is perfect. Anytime I ask he checks my A/F for free, like if I make a mod change that may affect it.

If you have an automatic transmission, get the SCT-2 so the shift performance can be tuned.

That feature made a world of difference on my automatic shifts!
