Bassani Axlebacks Install
Hey just want some input from those who have installed axlebacks, just picked up some bassanis, wondering how long I am looking at to install? Also any tips to make it easier/faster?? Thanks.
Axlebacks... I think if i was blind, with 1 hand, with only 2 fingers on it, and only knew how to use a MM socket then i would still say it was easy
The nice thing about bassani is the fits are amazing. depending on how old your car is id say the hardest part is going to be turning the original bolts on your exhaust so u can take the mufflers off first.
How to Do:
take off the hanger screws first, then the clamp tug at the mufflers back and forth to remove it from the exhaust.
put the hanger slips on the new mufflers
put anti seize on all the screws and put the new muffler into the big open hole
then tighten the hanger clamps down and ur done

OK, so I put them on this morning, and wow. They have the perfect tone. The left one went on no problem, but my right side is not lined up in the center of the cutout. Its like the hangers are bent wrong. Anyone know how to adjust these bad boys to get it centered??????
I just put on some Borlas this morning and had the same problem with the right side. We took the right side off and bent the rear hanger a bit more than the 90 degrees it was and it was centered. You may have to bend the rear hanger one way or another, but that will center the tip for you.
We bent it by grabing ahold of the base of the hanger and the end of it with two large adjustable wrenches. It will not take much, just a couple of degrees.
Good luck,
SD

I picked em up used from a friend who wrecked his stang a while back. I paid 275 for em. The sound is perfect. I have all stock exhaust except for the axlebacks, it sounds so good. I will post a sound clip as soon as I figure out how to.
And I did bend the hanger a bit, thats how I was able to get it on. I also noticed that where the stock H pipe comes down to connect to the mufflers, its different on either side. The left lined up perfect, but the right seems to be further back, towards the front of the car. WHich makes my right tip about 1/2 further in. Not sure which side is correctly lined up. I am taking it to Steeda to get the tri-ax installed, and will see if they can adjust em better for me.
