Default LCA install

I was under my car the other day and I noticed there is a brake line routed through the LCAs or at least the left one. Does changing these out entail a brake bleed or is there a simple way around this?

If you are not planning on putting the stocked LCA'S back on as I was just cut a notch out of them so you don't have to waste time with the emergency brakes. It funny how fast a band saw can take care of that problem.

Is it a brake line or a brake cable? You shouldn't have a brake line running through your LCAs. The emergency brake cable runs through them though. That is no big deal.

the cable realeases easily at the brake caliper.

Take the rear wheels off b/c it makes the cable much more accessable. And don't forget to release the parking brake.

Exactly! It is VERY easy to remove the parking brake cable. One simple clip. If you have the car in the air high enough, you don't have to remove the tires to get to them. Simply reconnect them and then use a zip tie to secure them to the new LCA's or you will hear the cables hitting the LCA'S over bumps.

+1

its the e-brake cable...no bleed is necessary. just zip-tie the line to the new lca so its not hanging too low or anything

Thank for the enlightment. I never thought it would just be the e-brake cable.
