In town, I get the rated 17, better or worse depending on how much I get on it. Highway with cruise I've seen 25.5-26. Without cruise, and playing around every now and then (because you've got to), I see 23-24 usually. The jump from 70 to 75 or 80 is the difference between 26 and 24.5 I've noticed, at least with my car.

Just go for the GT

If you are serious about worrying about gas milage, then you should keep your sixer IMO. It should be a crime to even consider gas milage for the GT's. If someone's car experience revolves around mileage, they should get a hybrid.

For the record - I get around 8 MPG and that's just the way I like it. (and my gas is $5.50 a gallon buying in 54 gallon drums)

Wow, I must drive the hell out of mine. I am currently getting 17.1 MPG. Come on guys, these cars are to be driven, not babied. Also, I take mine to the strip. * Thats why its low, and its going lower.

I'm averaging 21 right now. It's my daily driver so i think that's pretty good gas mileage for a GT. I honestly didn't expect to get that. I don't go overly crazy with it. I just get on it now and then. Get the GT. I think you'll forget all about gas mileage once you drive it.

Ya it pretty much all comes down to how you drive it. I can go down to 15mpg or so easily if I want to in my 6, so I know the GT's are capable of going lower than that easily if you drive it hard. I also wouldn't go off of what people say their guages say. Those things are notorious for being whacky and incorrect. Manually calculate it and you will get a much better estimate fo what you are getting. I say if you can afford to buy the GT then you can afford to pay for the gas.
