Default GOT A SPEEDING TICKET

I've had my new mustang for about 3 months now and I just got my first speeding ticket. Now it is time for a radar detector. Just curious if you guys have any suggestions.

Thought I might also ask does anyone have any good stories about getting out of a speeding ticket.

Friend of mine recently got a speeding ticket. When he went to court he was the very first person they called up (luck I know). Well first thing he does is asks for the calibration papers on the radar. Well, cop doesn't have it and my friend is let off. Bad thing was since he was the first, every single person there for speeding that day either got off (because they had the same cop) or tried to use that excuse (the other cops all had their papers though). judge supposedly ripped that cop a new one too!

^^^^^^^^ Lol. Now thats worth a try! Your bro is a lucky guy!

As far as a radar detector my Vector hasn't let me down once yet. I got the second to top of the line one, I think only 250 bucks. Its perfect, except for beeping K band whenever I pass a Walgreens. Lol. And I've heard of people getting really good deals on eBay, but I needed mine right away so I just went to Best Buy since they have all the brands there together to choose from. Good luck!

Next time you get pulled over just tell the cop this.

Escort 8500. Laser doesn't work on any detector, beam too narrow, you can try hitting brakes hard as soon as Laser warning occurs hoping Laser Unit will reject as it is not getting a constant speed. Generally it means pull over and get your wallet out.

7 ? yrs experience w/ Escort, no complaints.

I have a Beltronics Vector 995. $300 Absolutely awesome detector, very sensative without many false warnings except for those damn walgreens. [8D]

Thats not true, mine gave me a laser warning today about 3/4 of a mile ahead of the country sheriff sitting on the side of the road.. was doing about 15 over and it gave me plenty of time to slow down to speed limit.

i'll vouch for the escort, as I have one too and it has gotten me out of alot of tickets. (Escort Passport 8500) The only thing is that the cord was long and in the way for me in my 06 Mustang GT, but in my 96 Mustang GT it was perfect. On a side note Escort sells easy hardwiring kits for $10 so you can wire it up in the car easily like I did for my 06 Mustang GT.

A few days after I posted I went with the Escort 8500 x50. I like it so far.

Thanks for all the help.
